چکیده
Purpose: The purpose of this in vitro study was to evaluate the effect simulated gastric acidity on surface roughness different types dental ceramics. Methods: Fifty specimens were divided according type material into five groups (n=10), as follows: Partially stabilized zirconia (PSZ) (Prettaue),Fully (FSZ) (Prettaue Anterior), lithium disilicate ceramics (IPS. Emax), Zirconia-containing silicate (ZLS) (Vita Suprinity) and Hybrid Enamic). Specimens cut using a low-speed diamond saw (Isomet) rectangular shape with following dimension: 12mm width x 14mm length 1 mm thickness. Surface evaluated by optical profilometer. Each specimen immersed 5 ml acid ph 1.2 for 96 h a37◦C incubator. all tested revaluated. One-way ANOVA used compare mean difference between groups. Paired t-test comparing (before after) each group. Results: There significant (P=0.002) increase materials tested, but it non-significant (P>0.05) Prettaue (P=0.607), Anterior (P=0.273) Vita Suprinty group (P=0.201). (P≤0. 05) IPS. Emax (P=0.007) Enamic (P=0.021). showed least amount change (0.0006±0.002), while highest (0.0100±0.011). Conclusions: significantly increased hybrid

Effect of Acidic Agents on Surface Roughness of Dental Ceramics
BACKGROUND An increase in surface roughness of ceramics may decrease strength and affect the clinical success of ceramic restorations. However, little is known about the effect of acidic agents on ceramic restorations. The aim of this study was to evaluate the surface roughness of dental ceramics after being immersed in acidic agents. METHODS Eighty-three ceramic disk specimens (12.0 mm in di...

متن کاملEffect of hydrofluoric acid concentration and etching time on the surface roughness of CAD/CAM ceramics
Introduction: Dental ceramics are considered as materials that can restore the appearance of natural teeth. Etching the inner surface of a ceramic restoration with hydrofluoric acid (HF) followed by using a silane coupling agent is a well-known and recommended method to increase the bond strength. The aim of etching on ceramic structure is to enhance the surface roughness (Ra) and energy and to...
